Jim Derbyshire, Optigo board chair and VentureLabs program director, received the SFU Chancellor’s Distinguished Service Award.
International entrepreneur. Electronics engineer. Mentor and advisor. Venture Connection program director. Jim Derbyshire is many things to many people and organizations, including Optigo Networks. For that, he’s been recognized with the 2017 Simon Fraser University (SFU) Chancellor’s Distinguished Service Award, T-Net reports.
Jim helped to develop VentureLabs, a world-leading business accelerator based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Over the years, VentureLabs has trained and inspired thousands of entrepreneurs and hundreds of students. His keen insights and decades of business experience have made Jim a vital member of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“Jim is not only the chairman of Optigo Networks’ board, but one of our valued business advisors,” said our CEO, Pook-Ping Yao. “His contributions to the growth of our company, and to the business community at large, have been exceptional.”
